About Our Community and Neighborhood

Founded in 1870, Irvington’s quiet suburban feel attracted artists, politicians, academics, and entrepreneurs. Today its winding streets of historic homes continue to appeal to new generations, who come to enjoy the comforts of small town life, with walkable streets, quaint shops and friendly neighbors.

From the renowned Irvington Halloween Festival to the annual Benton House Tour of Homes, Irvington hosts a variety of hugely popular events, including many at Lourdes like the Chili Cook-Off and our own Fall Festival and Brew Fest.

As a supportive community Our Lady of Lourdes volunteers are called to provide service to our brothers and sisters. Whether it is time spent helping with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or Irvington Community Advocacy Network (ICAN) or participating in the liturgical celebration, our members are God’s hands in our community.
