History of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish
Bishop Chatard found that the property of Mr. and Mrs. John Cusak, at 5317 E. Washington Street, was available, practical and affordable for the new church. On July 10th, the property was purchased for $2,600.00. It was not until November 10th that Father Joseph Poelhuis of Holy Cross Parish was named as the Pastor of the new parish.

Meet Our Pastor
Father Rick Ginther
A native of Indianapolis, Fr. Rick has served in parishes in Indianapolis, Tell City, Richmond, and Terre Haute. Most recently he served as pastor of St. Patrick’s and St. Margaret Mary’s parishes in Terre Haute. He is currently the pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on the eastside of Indianapolis, a member of the College of Deans for the East Deanery, the Director of the Office of Ecumenism and Interreligious Relations for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, a member of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation Board (CIC), and a member of the Greater Indianapolis Interfaith Alliance Board.
